Our Family Holiday

We are home sweet home from a fantastic 2 weeks holiday on the beautiful island of Adakoy in Turkey. If you aren’t up to speed on the type of holiday we go on watch this to hear all about the wonderful active holiday company Neilson

If you follow me on Insta then you will most definitely be sick to death of my holiday pictures, but just incase you’ve missed them the pics above are me faves & basically sum up our wonderful time!

Activities: Between the 4 adults we participated in Tennis lessons, wake boarding, waterskiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, water polo & aqua fitness. There was so much more available to us but with 3 kids under 4 it is difficult to fit everything in. We managed to share the childcare load & do things as couples & the girls & guys would do activities together too.

The tennis lessons are brilliant & the coaches were my FAVOURITE this year! The lessons are fun & lighthearted with games alongside techniques & once a week there is a social game of ‘Booze & Balls’ which everyone from every ability can get involved in & you basically play games with a drink in one hand!

Wakeboarding & Waterskiing was great, some days the water was a little choppy & they had to stop but mostly you could get a tow once a day with tuition if you needed it or just a little encouragement to get you outside of your comfort zone.

Kayaking & stand up paddle boarding were activities we could fit into our days as and when we wanted with no fixed times, you basically just grabbed a board or a kayak & out you went!

The boys went out sailing most days just taking out various boats for however long they managed to escape childcare duties for!

Food: The quality of food on Neilson holidays is exceptional, club board dining involves breakfast & lunch every day & 4 evening meals a week. Breakfast usually consisted of fresh pancakes & fruit, omelettes, full cooked breakfasts – occasionally I’d be healthy & have fruit & yoghurt. Lunch was usually grilled fish, salad, dips, roasted vegetables & chips (pretty sure I had chips every day for 2 weeks!!!) Dinner was similar to lunch with pastas, grilled meats, stir fry’s etc thrown in, puddings were pretty similar every day – I’m not much of a pudding girl myself but the raspberry cheesecake was to die for & there was mountains of fresh fruit available. We used the non inclusive evenings to head over to Marmaris on the boat & try out different restaurants on the marina, King prawns & steaks were usually our top choices.

Resort: The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, accessed by boat from the Marmaris marina adds to the magical feel of this little island known locally as Paradise Island. It consists of the accommodation, a pool, a beach, two pontoons, a restaurant, pool bar & beach bar it really is tiny but wonderful! The size adds to the close feel & guests, staff & managers & coaches all mingle together adding to the enjoyment of the holiday.

Accommodation: Clean, could do with more storage in rooms as we had the 4 of us in one room & storage was unbelievably tight.. but as we all know I’m not a light packer! The accom is on 3* so nothing special but for all the time you spend in your room there really is everything you would need… the one thing I would change is having a bath!

We really did have the best time, with the best company & I think I’ve cried about 8 times since coming home! This little island stole my heart in 2012 & leaving this time was even harder… Mr M has already started pricing up our next Neilson holiday for September!

Watch the first 3 days of our holiday below… more holiday vlogs coming soon!
