So I guess a Mothers instinct is right. I have ‘known’ from about 9 weeks pregnant that I was having a girl… Don’t know how or what led me to think this but I’ve just always thought she was a little lady… So much so that last week I washed & ironed all of Safiyah’s baby clothes!!
I am absolutely thrilled she’s a little princess! I know deep down Lee would have loved a little boy to play golf with & take to the football but he’s not disappointed we are having a girl! He expected it after how sure I was we were team pink!!!
I haven’t done a separate blog post on the Gender Scan so I’ll talk you through how we found out!! So Thursday evening we went for our gender scan at a private clinic in Aberdeen (it’s our hospitals policy not to reveal the gender) – the clinic was called Ultrasound Baby Bond & they are who we used last time. Can’t fault the service it’s £39 for a ‘just gender’ scan – about a 20 min appointment they tell you position of baby & the sex & you get a few pictures.
When we arrived we told the lady we didn’t actually want to know the Gender so to tell us when to look away… She loved our idea & made me stick to it as I kept having the urge to look! The temptation was unreal & I’m so glad lee was there otherwise I so would have looked for sure!! Mini Meldrum watched the whole thing which I think is really cute that she watched it all and we had our eyes closed!
We then dropped the envelope containing the sex at our local card & gift shop along with a big box for them to fill with either pink or blue balloons!!
Sunday arrived & we had invited 20 odd friends and family over for an Easter/Birthday/Gender Reveal Party! My mum arrived with the box & at 12.20 we opened it! We are both chuffed to bits & it was a lovely way to find out & make it super special! For anyone considering a gender reveal party I would def recommend it – it’s such a nice way to involve everyone!
Now to start shopping!!!!
Hope you all had a perfect Easter weekend.
